County of staion: Cooper County
Loction of site: MO-K & MO-M (old US-40), E. of Exit 89 on I-70, S. of Blackwater

The pumps are gone now, they were beneath the now leaning light standards. The building were the attendant cam from was also a general store and restaurant. Today, we would call it a "convenience" store...but back then it was a general store.

The stone building was a repair shop. Or, at least I think it was. Standing here, trying to visualize what it was like then, not so hard, but, maybe, not so accurate either.

Now hwy M run in front, and Hwy K along side, but, look at Google and see the abandoned road running directly in front...and going east up the hill? That, my friends, was the original US-40
