The presence of the church of Turquant is attested from the middle of the 12th century when its construction began, most of the building dating from the 15th and 16th centuries.
At the end of the 17th century, a reconstruction was carried out to restore the belfry which had collapsed. In the early 2000s, € 900,000 was undertaken to bring the standards and restoration to work on the foundations, the framework and part of the roof.
When entering the church, the visitor is struck by the space and the light. The white tufa and the seven multi-lobed ogival bays added to the nave accentuate the impression of volume. The altar, very beautiful model in tuffeau, is dominated by the vault of the apse. The high reliefs dating from the 17th century and coming from Fontevraud Abbey represent the scenes of the Crucifixion and the Descent from the Cross.
Saint-Aubin Church in Turquant The village of Turquant can today pride itself on having a church counting among the welcoming churches of Anjou, classified as a Historic Monument since June 27, 1967.
The municipality of Turquant and the Heritage Foundation have decided to launch a subscription with the population and businesses in order to restore this church. In addition to the subscription amount, the Heritage Foundation reserves the possibility of adding an additional subsidy. Donations entitle individuals to a tax reduction of 66% or 75% for those subject to wealth tax and 60% for businesses *.

Turquant: Saint-Aubin church gets a facelift
The second phase of restoration work on the Saint-Aubin church in Turquant will start in April. On the construction program: a facelift for the south roof of the nave. This project is part of a municipal heritage conservation policy.

La présence de l'église de Turquant est attestée dès le milieu du XIIème siècle où débute sa construction, la majeure partie de l'édifice datant des XVème et XVIème siècles.
A la fin du XVIIème siècle, une reconstruction est menée pour restaurer le clocher qui s'était effondré. Au début des années 2000 ont été entrepris 900 000 € de travaux de mise aux normes et de restauration sur les fondations, la charpente et une partie de la toiture.
Lorsqu'il pénètre dans l'église, le visiteur est frappé par l'espace et la lumière. Le tuffeau blanc et les sept baies ogivales polylobées ajoutées à la nef accentuent l'impression de volume. L'autel, très beau modèle en tuffeau, est dominé par la voûte de l'abside. Les hauts reliefs datant du XVIIème siècle et provenant de l'Abbaye de Fontevraud représentent les scènes de la Crucifixion et de la Descente de Croix.

La commune de Turquant et la Fondation du Patrimoine ont décidé de lancer une souscription auprès de la population et des entreprises afin de restaurer cette église. En plus du montant de la souscription, la Fondation du patrimoine se réserve la possibilité d'abonder par une subvention complémentaire. Les dons ouvrent droit pour les particuliers à une réduction d'impôt de 66% ou de 75% pour ceux assujettis à l'Impôts sur la Fortune et de 60% pour les entreprises*.

Turquant : l'église Saint-Aubin fait peau neuve
La seconde phase des travaux de restauration de l'église Saint-Aubin à Turquant débutera en avril. Au programme du chantier : un lifting pour la toiture Sud de la nef. Ce projet s'inscrit dans une politique communale de conservation du patrimoine.
