There has to be an interesting story as to why this literal gentleman was in a comparatively quiet area of Central Texas. He came from a prominent family, and may very likely been born at Prideaux Place. His family were members of the peerage: His father, Charles Glynn Prideaux-Brune was Sheriff of Cornwall in 1880 and a Deputy Lieutenant, while his mother, Ellen (sometimes "Helen") was also from a prominent family. We can find all kinds of information about the family, but references to his fate typically reference his grave marker, which has a large cross, and it reads:

Francis Ernest Prideaux-Brune
Born at Padstow, Cornwall, Eng. Feb. 5,
1863.
