"A native of Seoul, Korea, Master Kim began training in Taekwondo at 6 years old. He competed extensively in Korea as a member of various elementary, middle and high school teams. He represented Seoul in national tournaments and was awarded gold and silver medals.

Upon graduating high school, Master Kim applied to the number one Taekwondo University, Yong-In University, and competed with 500 other students. Out of the 12% that was accepted, Master Kim achieved the highest total score for sparring, kicking, and poomsae, and was awarded a full scholarship.
Established in 1953, Yong-In University is Korea’s premier school for Korean athletes. Its varying athletic programs have produced countless international competitors, Olympic team members and coaches & masters in every sport.
During Korean military service, Master Kim was a passionated Taekwondo instructor and dedicated sergeant. He served in the Special Forces unit for 2 years undergoing special warfare operations and missions.
In 2010, the Korean government selected Master Kim to dispatch to the United States. He dispatched to California, and taught in the U.C. Berkeley Martial Arts Program and CUTA Taekwondo schools.
In 2012, he started his unique Taekwondo programs for kids recreational, and elite training, and produced black belt students, over ten California state champions, two US Open bronze medals and two US national junior team members.
