Description:

Charlotte Napoléon Bonaparte was born on October 31, 1802. She was Napoleon's niece, the daughter of Joseph Bonaparte, Napoléon's older brother, and Julie Clary. From 1808 to 1813 her father was the King of Spain and thus she held the title Princess Charlotte Napoléon Bonaparte, Infanta of Spain.

Charlotte was an artist. She studied painting and engraving in Paris and Brussels and excelled at producing watercolor paintings. From 1821 to 1824 she lived with her father in New Jersey and exhibited her work at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.

On July 23, 1826 she married her cousin Napoléon Louis Bonaparte. She died, probably in childbirth, on March 2, 1839 in Sardinia, Italy while on her return to France.
