La "paroisse" Sourp Hagop (français: Saint-Jacques, anglais: St.James) a été fondée le 18 juillet 1958. Depuis 2002, elle fait partie de la diocèse de l'Église apostolique arménienne affiliée au Saint-Siège de Cilicie.
Selon Wikipedia, "l'Église apostolique arménienne est l'Église nationale du peuple arménien. Faisant partie de l'orthodoxie orientale, c'est l'une des plus anciennes institutions chrétiennes. Le Royaume d'Arménie a été le premier État à adopter le christianisme comme religion officielle sous le règne du roi Tiridate III au début du IVe siècle. Selon la tradition, l'église trouve son origine dans les missions des apôtres Barthélemy et Thaddée au 1er siècle.
Elle est parfois appelée Église orthodoxe arménienne ou Église grégorienne. Ce dernier n'est pas préféré par l'église elle-même, car elle considère les apôtres Barthélemy et Thaddée comme ses fondateurs, et Saint Grégoire l'Illuminateur comme simplement le premier gouverneur officiel de l'église. Elle est également connue simplement sous le nom d’Église arménienne".
L'église actuelle, la deuxième de la communauté, a été bâtie entre 1969 à 1973 selon les plans de l'architecte Dikran Gabriel.
Elle a été bâtie dans le style fonctionnel (moderne).

The current church, the second in the community, was built between 1969 and 1973 according to plans by architect Dikran Gabriel.
