On the southeast corner of E.2nd Street and S. Jefferson, northeast of the downtown Hobart area, a lovely stone and wood pavilion is dedicated to Charlie Freeman. The open pavilion has six stone support pillars, and a gable roof, with an arched ceiling, and a cupola.

A six foot high stone pillar has a bronze plaque showing the dedication which was made on what would have been Charlie's 9th birthday. It reads:

October 14, 2007
On this day, we dedicate the
Charlie Freeman Pavilion
to the community of Hobart
This day is special because it is Charlie's ninth birthday.
We are thankful God allowed us to share eight happy fun-
filled years with this bright and unique boy, our son Charlie.
Charlie inspired us daily with his incredible passion and
fervor for life. He loved those who loved him, and he
loved God and Jesus the best an eight year old boy could.
Our family circle is broken without his presence; however
we have not lost hope, because we know we will be
reunited in heaven. We beseech each of you to remember
our time on earth is precious and fleeting.
Pursue strength in Christ, not to be admired as strong, but
to defeat every foe that would entice us to settle for
any pleasure less than admiring the strongest person
in the universe, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God.
Pursue wisdom, not to be admired as wise and intelligent,
but to discern and admire the One Who is most truly wise.
Pursue holiness, not to be admired as holy, but to be free
from all unholy inhibitions that keep us from seeing and
savoring the holiness and mercy of Christ.
Pursue love, not to be admired as a loving person, but
to enjoy extending to others, even in sufferings, the all-
satisfying love of Christ.
We are humbled and thankful for the efforts the following
people made to construct this pavilion,
(24 names of individuals and companies)
May God bless this playground and pavilion
