Der Südpark ist eine Parkanlage in Marienburg im Süden Kölns. Eine Besonderheit des Parks sind zahlreiche, entlang der Wege verteilte Sitzbänke: Jede einzelne Bank ist von Anwohnern und Besuchern gestiftet worden. Als Dank konnten die Stifter jemanden benennen, dem "ihre" Bank gewidmet werden sollte und der auf einer Plakette an der Bank gewürdigt werden soll.

So sind aktuell etwa 20 Bänke im Park zu finden, die Familienangehörigen, Freunden oder Bekannten der Marienburger Anwohner gewidmet sind. Es handelt sich dabei um einfache Metallgitterbänke, die mit grünem Kunststoff überzogen sind. Oben links an der Rückenlehne ist die jeweilige Plakette befestigt.

Dies ist eine von sechs Bänken, die im westlichen Teil des Parks auf einem kleinen Platz im Halbkreis aufgestellt sind. Wenn man auf dem Weg steht und die Bänke anschaut, handelt es sich hier um die ganz rechte. Laut Plakette ist die Bank Leu, Karoo, Arco, Damu und Nero gewidmet. Wahrscheinlich sind das nicht die wirklichen Namen der Personen sondern Spitznamen oder Rufnamen. Der Stifter der Bank, dem die fünf Personen offenbar sehr wichtig sind, ist leider nicht namentlich erwähnt.
The Südpark is a park in Marienburg in the south of Cologne. A special feature of the park are numerous benches distributed along the paths: Every single bench has been donated by residents and visitors. As a thank you, the donators were able to name someone to whom "their" bench should be dedicated to and inscribed on a plaque at the bench.

There are currently around 20 benches in the park dedicated to family members, friends or acquaintances of the residents of Marienburg. These are simple metal grille benches covered with green plastic. The respective badge is attached to the top left of the backrest.

This is one of six benches placed at a small square in a semicircle in the western part of the park. If you stand on the way and look at the benches, this is the right one. According to the plaque, the bank is dedicated to Leu, Karoo, Arco, Damu and Nero. These are probably not the real names but nicknames of the people. The founder of the bank, for whom the five people are obviously very important, is unfortunately not mentioned by name.
