The Busiek State Forest and Wildlife Area encompasses about 2500 acres that are open to hikers and equestrians. The area is divided roughly in half by Highway 65. In the East portion of the forest, near the top of a hill, is Carter Cemetery. Established in 1891, the small graveyard has 29 documented grave markers. The cemetery, which is inactive but maintained by the park, is about a half-mile walk from the nearest parking area.
