Béceleuf is a small village surrounded by the municipalities of Ardin, Faye-sur-Ardin, Xaintray and Surin. It is located 20 km north-west of Niort, the largest town in the area, and equidistant from Coulonges-sur-l'Autize and Champdeniers, 9 km. Its inhabitants are called "the Beceleusians".
The town covers 19 km² and has 723 inhabitants since the last population census in 2011.
Located 102 meters above sea level, the river, the young Autise, is the main watercourse that crosses the town of Béceleuf.

Béceleuf est un petit village entouré par les communes d’Ardin, Faye-sur-Ardin, Xaintray et Surin. Il est situé à 20 km au nord ouest de Niort, la plus grande ville des environs, et à égale distance de Coulonges-sur-l’Autize et de Champdeniers, soit 9 km. Ses habitants sont appelés « les Béceleusiens ».
