Der Südpark ist eine relativ kleine Parkanlage in Marienburg im Süden Kölns. Er wurde bereits 1898 bis 1901 angelegt und steht unter Denkmalschutz. Ursprünglich war in den Park das "Südpark-Restaurant" integriert, das als eines der beliebtesten und vornehmsten Ausflugsziele Kölns galt. Im zweiten Weltkrieg wurde es schwer beschädigt und schließlich 1951 endgültig abgebrochen.

Heute umfasst der Südpark auf einer Fläche von 4,6 Hektar vor allem Wiesenflächen und alte Kiefern, die noch aus der Zeit vor der Anlage des Parks stammen. Eine ebenfalls unter Denkmalschutz stehende Panther-Statue von Fritz Behn aus dem Jahre 1920 steht etwas versteckt im Park. Ein großer Kinderspielplatz erfreut sich bei gutem Wetter bei den kleineren Besuchern großer Beliebtheit.

Eine Besonderheit des Parks sind die zahlreichen, entlang der Wege verteilten Sitzbänke: Jede einzelne Bank ist von Anwohnern und Besuchern gestiftet worden. Als Dank konnten die Stifter jemanden benennen, dem "ihre" Bank gewidmet werden sollte und der auf einer Plakette an der Bank gewürdigt werden soll. So sind aktuell etwa 20 Bänke im Park zu finden, die Familienangehörigen, Freunden oder Bekannten der Marienburger Anwohner gewidmet sind.

Die Koordinaten sind vom südlichen Haupteingang an der Straße "Am Südpark". Ein weiterer Eingang befindet sich nördlich an der Kirche St. Maria Königin.

The Südpark is a relatively small park in Marienburg in the south of Cologne. It was created between 1898 and 1901 and is under perservation order. Originally, the "Südpark-Restaurant" was integrated into the park, which was considered one of the most popular and distinguished destinations in Cologne. It was badly damaged during World War II and finally demolished in 1951.

Today, the Südpark covers an area of 4.6 hectares with mainly meadows and old pines that date from before the park was created. A panther statue by Fritz Behn from 1920, which is also under perservation order, is somewhat hidden in the park. A large children's playground is very popular with younger visitors of the park in good weather.

A special feature of the park are the numerous benches distributed along the paths: Every single bench has been donated by residents and visitors. As a thank you, the donators were able to name someone to whom "their" bench should be dedicated to and inscribed on a plaque at the bench. There are currently around 20 benches in the park dedicated to family members, friends or acquaintances of the residents of Marienburg.

The coordinates are from the southern main entrance on the street "Am Südpark". Another entrance is up north at the church St. Maria Königin.
