FR Le canton de Banon situé entre un versant du Ventoux et un de Lure, est une région où l’eau y est rare et précieuse.
Avant, la population ne disposaient que de quelques sources où étaient établis des lavoirs. Ces lavoirs d’architecture plus ou moins élaborées sont le témoin de durs labeurs pour les lavandières qui devaient s’y rendre.
Dans les années 1960, l’eau était limitée et coupée dans la journée l’été.
Ici, juste à l'extérieur du village la magnifique fontaine en pierres moussues alimentait le lavoir en contre-bas.
De son écoulement unique, aujourd'hui ce ne sont que deux minces filets d'eau qui s'échappent.
EN The canton of Banon, located between a slope of Ventoux and one of Lure, is a region where water is scarce and precious.
Before, the population had only a few springs where washhouses were established. These washhouses of more or less elaborate architecture are the witness of hard work for the washerwomen who had to go there.
In the 1960s, water was limited and cut during the day in the summer.
Here, just outside the village, the magnificent mossy stone fountain supplied the wash-house below.
From its unique flow, today only two thin streams of water escape.
