The small town of Crato played an important role in Portugal's history, specially in the medieval age.

The area was donated to the order in 1232, by the king Dom Sancho II. The corresponding document is dates 23rd May. It is precisely that royal act that is commemorated by the present plaque: the 775th anniversary of the arrival of the Order to Crato.

The building itself worth a visit, specially its huge stone balcony, dated from the medieval age.
