At the north end of the former Ashton Mill in Cumberland, Rhode Island, is a ghost sign for Owens Corning Corporation, which operated here between 1941 and 1983, and produced fiberglass and Beta Cloth. All NASA Apollo missions used Owens Corning's fire proof, Teflon coated fiberglass Beta Cloth for the outer layer of astronaut spacesuits, in-flight garments, insignia, mission and name tag patches and US flag patches after the Apollo 1 fire.

Visible on the second story of what are now residential units, the very faded sign can be made out across the building's red brick wall. You can easily visit this location as it is along the Blackstone River Bikeway. The sign can also be seen from above on the southern sidewalk of the George Washington Highway/Rte 116 Joseph Russo Memorial Bridge.
