The Bryan McClain Park Disc Golf Course is adjacent to but behind the Longs Creek Elementary School. To get to the entrance of the park to see this memorial, turn East from O'Conner Road onto Knollcreek Drive. Go until almost past the school grounds, but turn right into the last entrance driveway into the school property (before you get into the residential houses). This is a One Way path that takes you past the pick up/drop off location for the school, but keep going all the way around the parking lot area until you get to the back corner of the other side of the lot. On your right is the entrance into Bryan McClain Park disc golf course. It seems weird to drive through school property to get to a public park, but that is how it is done. The parking area close to the entrance to McClain Park can be used for people going to this park.
This disc golf course and the park in general was dedicated to the memory of Bryan McClain. He was a graduate of the nearby Madison High School and went on to attend Texas A&M University as a member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets. During his sophomore year, on November 18, 1999, he was working on building the bonfire that was traditionally lit before the A&M vs Texas football game. Unfortunately, the log stacks of the bonfire fell over while being built and Bryan McClain was one of the twelve students who were killed in the collapse of the bonfire logs. There is a memorial plaque on a short stone monument dedicating the park to Bryan. The monument is between the entrance gate and the first tee of the disc golf course.
