After searching, Carter Temple C.M.E., does not have much of an online presence. There is a lot of Carter Temple C.M.E. listings, but only a few for the one in Galveston. Their Facebook page is "unofficial" and does not offer much information about the history of this church or congregation.
The sign above the wooden double doors reads:
