A wounded Army Ranger and his family will be the beneficiaries of a fundraiser concert being held at Oak Tree in Edmond.

Article text:

The Edmond community held a benefit concert Sunday evening for an Army Ranger from Oklahoma who is now fighting for his life.

Ryan Davis has been recovering since August after he was gravely injured while deployed in Afghanistan when an explosive device detonated. Davis fractured his pelvis and severely injured his abdomen, arms and legs.

Right now, Davis is recovering at a hospital in San Antonio. He still has to undergo several surgeries and months of physical therapy.

Many of Davis' loved ones and members of the community gathered Sunday at Oak Tree Golf Course for a benefit concert in Davis' honor.

Davis' wife, Asia Davis, spoke with KOCO 5 before the concert.

"It really means a lot to us just because people have come together and people have shown the love and support that you really don't know that's there until this stuff happens," Asia Davis said. "And then once it does, everyone just comes together as a community -- whether it's Savannah, Georgia, Murrayville, Illinois, or Oklahoma."

Asia Davis said her husband will be in the hospital for 30 more days. They plan to live in San Antonio for the next year as he continues to recover.

The proceeds from the benefit concert will go toward Ryan Davis and his family. Anyone who would like to donate can do so on the GoFundMe page.
