FR L’église de Salernes comme tant de bâtiments de style roman et d’inspiration cistercienne, nous accueille en nous donnant un sentiment de sécurité, mais de sécurité noble. Elle est constituée d’un volume massif de belles pierres taillées aux proportions harmonieuses.

A l’origine, peu de lumière. Dieu se rencontre dans la pénombre des lieux silencieux. D’une petite chapelle primitive bâtie au XI° siècle, les cisterciens, établis alors à Tourtour, édifièrent au XIII° siècle, l’église actuelle. (avec une seule nef, pure et harmonieuse)

L’église cistercienne protège son silence par ses pierres.

Elle n’est cependant pas que silence. Parce que nous découvrons que son architecture est faite merveilleusement pour le chant.

Les paroles sacrées et les chants caressent presque les murs pour emplir l’espace.
EN The church of Salernes, like so many buildings of Romanesque style and Cistercian inspiration, welcomes us, giving us a feeling of security, but of noble security. It is made up of a massive volume of beautiful cut stones of harmonious proportions.

Originally, little light. God meets in the darkness of the silent places. From a small primitive chapel built in the 11th century, the Cistercians, then established in Tourtour, built the present church in the 13th century. (with a single nave, pure and harmonious)

The Cistercian church protects its silence with its stones.

However, it is not only silence. Because we discover that its architecture is wonderfully made for singing.

Sacred words and songs almost caress the walls to fill the space.
