Simon Cemetery Outhouses - Love County, OK - Outhouses on Waymarking.com

Coordinates are at the outhouse in the northwest corner of the cemetery, as it's the far more interesting of the two. While a bit wobbly, it is still usable, made of stone and concrete. It's a one-seater, and a standpipe once went up to the roof for ventilation. The metal door leans against the privy, and the wood door frame is rotting away. The roof is also metal with a wood frame.

Across the cemetery is a newer, wooden two-seater, with "Women" on the door. This one is in very good condition, painted dark red with white trim, and a corrugated piece of steel serves as the roof, with ventilation around the top of the privy. Like its stone counterpart across the way, it could use some maintenance, especially one of the seats inside.

As always, be careful when dealing with piles of leaves, spider webs, or wasp nests.

Location: The rural community of Simon is so small that you won't even see it on maps, but there are references to it in obituaries. There are no headstones in the cemetery bearing the name "Simon", and documentation for rural Love County is scant at best. The cemetery is on private land, and a sign at the open access gate on Stockton Rd asks that you stay on the road and limit visits to the cemetery. Be on the lookout for armadillos, and one of the local ranchers has a couple of dogs that may skirt the outside of the cemetery to watch you, but they keep their distance and don't appear to be hostile.
