One of the major battles of the 19th century had place around the hill and the village of Chlum in 1866. The battlefield is dotted with countless monuments of fallen soldiers and you can follow some of the nature trails.The lookout tower is situated in the centre of battlefield. Originally there was iron 25 meters high observation tower, consecrated in 1899. In 1999, the original iron structure due to the poor condition were taken down and there were built a new telecommunications tower with a lookout platform - 52 meters high. The plateau is located at a height of 35 meters and lookout tower was inaugurated in a day of 133rd anniversary of the Battle of Chlumu 3rd 1866 July 1999. The tower has two independent octagonal staircase and is open during the summer season.

Okolo návrší a obce Chlum se v roce 1866 jedna z hlavních bitev 19. století. Bojište je protkáno naucnými stezkami a poseto množstvím pomníku padlých vojáku. Na areál bojište je možné se díky rovinatému terénu podívat z ptací perspektivy.

Puvodne zde stála železná 25 metru vysoká vyhlídková vež vysvecená 2. listopadu 1899. Roku 1999 byla puvodní železná konstrukce z duvodu špatného stavu snesena a byla vybudována nová telekomunikacní vež s vyhlídkou plošinou vysoká 52 metru. Plošina je umístena ve výšce 35 metru a byla slavnostne otevrena v den 133. výrocí bitvy na Chlumu 1866 3. cervence 1999. Vež má dve nezávisla osmiboká schodište a je otevrena v letní sezóne.
