While there is a 2001 monument in the Bourland family plot, noting Mr. Bourland's having established this cemetery in 1870, Brian Spivey, a family member, has a page that provides some additional background. W.H. "Chickasaw Bill" Bourland was a former Chickasaw Tribal Judge, and his intent was to provide this burial ground for both family and Native Americans. In addition to what Findagrave lists, there are a number of graves marked by fieldstones, and the Bourland plot was originally fenced in to keep cattle from damaging the headstones.
