The sponsor of this Little Free Library unit has placed it at the corner of the lot formed by the junction of Forest Pebble and Pebble Height Street within the Oak Hollow neighborhood of San Antonio's northern area, but south of Loop 1604. The book exhange box is right at the curbside right at the corner where the streets meet.
This is a well designed and nicely cared for book exchange. It has the amenity of a hook to hold a leash for dogs that may be with their owners on a walk. Two red reflectors are attached to the support post to ward drivers passing the corner to beware of the pole and the people near it. The box containing the books is wired with solar powered LED lights to allow an interested reader to browse the books in the evening (and as Christmas decorations). The inside of the book box was designed with a partition that allows large/tall books to be placed neatly inside. Two rows of regular sized (paperback novels up to 9 inch high) can be hold a dozen books on each row.
The concept of the Little Free Library is for people within a community to stop by the unit and examine the selection of books at that time. If you see a book you'd like to read, feel free to take it out and take it with you. If you have books at home that you have already read, you are encouraged to take these books to a Little Free Library and donate them into any little library's book selection. This concept is summarized as: Take A Book: Return a Book. Feel free to take a book you want to read, and feel free to return a book/add a book to this exchange unit or any others you know of. Your contribution of books keeps the sections varied and keeps the little libraries filled with book for others. Its is a win-win situation.
