"This church was, originally, the chapel of the Company of Jesus, established in Guadeloupe since 1651. Only the central part of the main facade can be dated to the end of the 17th or the beginning of the 18th century.
The church, enlarged by two collaterals in the 19th century, bears essentially the mark of the 20th century with the intervention of the architect Isnard who adds tribunes to the collaterals.
He also builds a flat chevet surmounted by a square steeple, and crowns the main facade with a cornice and a niche which receives the statue of Our Lady.
The nave is covered with a reinforced concrete vault. The presbytery is attached to the church and its bell tower. Its old part is in the extension of the bell tower.
It is in masonry and has rectangular bays with framing and corner stone cut stone. It was enlarged in 1930-1940.
The parish enclosure is a curiosity, given the worship around Notre-Dame and a source deemed miraculous but dry, making unnecessary facilities covered baths and pool. The population comes to collect from the reconstruction of the Grotto of Lourdes, dated 1917. "

" Cette église était, à l'origine, la chapelle de la Compagnie de Jésus, implantée en Guadeloupe depuis 1651. Seule la partie centrale de la façade principale peut être datée de la fin du 17e ou du début du 18e siècle.
L'église, agrandie par deux collatéraux au 19e siècle, porte essentiellement la marque du 20e siècle avec l'intervention de l'architecte Isnard qui ajoute des tribunes aux collatéraux.
Il édifie également un chevet plat surmonté d'un clocher carré, et couronne la façade principale d'une corniche et d'une niche qui reçoit la statue de Notre-Dame.
La nef est couverte d'une voûte en béton armé. Le presbytère est accolé à l'église et son clocher. Sa partie ancienne se trouve dans le prolongement du clocher.
Elle est en maçonnerie et possède des baies rectangulaires avec encadrement et chaîne d'angle en pierre de taille. Elle a été agrandie en 1930-1940.
L'enclos paroissial constitue une curiosité, compte tenu du culte autour de Notre-Dame et d'une source réputée miraculeuse mais tarie, rendant inutiles les installations des bains couverts et du bassin. La population vient se recueillir auprès de la reconstitution de la grotte de Lourdes, datée de 1917. "
