The one and two storey rendered Neoclassical Courthouse is in the form of a Roman Temple. The Courthouse was built 1883-87 to replace an earlier 1863 building and has a main chamber of double height which comes forward as a portico and is flanked by single storey offices behind colonnades. The Courthouse sits in a park-like garden,of mature trees behind a high iron palisade rendered brick and wrought iron fence with two sets of gates.
