Der KölnTurm ist das zentrale Gebäude im Kölner MediaPark. Er ist mit 165,48 Metern (148,10 Meter ohne Antenne) das höchste Bürogebäude Kölns und nach dem PostTower in Bonn das zweithöchste NRWs. 6 Aufzüge bringen die Büroarbeiter auf die insgesamt 45 Etagen.

Das Stahlbetongebäude wurde von den Architekten Christian Kohl und Jean Nouvel entworfen und 1998 bis 2001 gebaut. Es enthält einen tragenden Mittelkern sowie nach außen hin Pendelstützen. Im unteren Bereich wurden Kölner Motive wie der Kölner Dom und die Altstadt-Silhouette im Siebdruckverfahren auf die Glasfassaden des Gebäudes aufgetragen, im oberen Bereich befindet sich eine Lichtinstallation, die abends mit Animationen bespielt wird.

Auf der 30. Etage befindet sich ein öffentliches Restaurant mit Dachterasse. Auf der Spitze steht ein Antennenmast mit Sendern sowohl für analoges UKW- als auch für digitales DAB+-Radio.

2013 wurde der KölnTurm mit der "Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design" (LEED) Auszeichnung in Gold zertifiziert. Damit ist es das erste Gebäude in NRW, das diese Auszeichnung in Gold erhalten hat. Um die Kriterien des Zertifikats zu erfüllen, wurden Prozesse wie Mülltrennung und Recycling verändert, die Energieeffiezienz durch moderne Leuchtmittel erhöht, und lokale und recycelte Baumaterialien verwendet. In der Lobby im Erdgeschoss hängt eine Tafel mit der Auszeichnung.

The Cologne Tower (German: KölnTurm) is the main building of MediaPark in Cologne. It is 165.48 meters high (148.10 meters without antenna), highest bureau building in Cologne and second highest in Northrhine-Westfalia after the PostTower in Bonn. 6 Elevators bring the workers to the 45 floors.

The steel-concrete-building was designed by the architects Christian Kohl and Jean Nouvel, and was built from 1998 to 2001. It consists of a static core and stabilizers at the edges. Cologne motives like the Dom and the silhouette of the historic center of Cologne have been applied to the lower part of the glass-front of the building by printing technics. In the top, there's a lightinstallation that shows animations in the evening.

There's a public restaurant including a terrace on the 30th floor. On top of the building there's an antenna pole with transmitters for analog FM-radio as well as digital DAB+-radio.

In 2013, the KölnTurm was certified with the "Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design" (LEED) award in Gold. This makes it the first building in Northrhine-Westfalia to receive this gold award. In order to meet the criteria of the certificate, processes such as waste separation and recycling have been changed, the energy efficiency has been increased by modern lighting, and local and recycled building materials have been used. In the lobby on the ground floor hangs a panel with the award.
