Parking lot P5 is on the east side of Eagleson Road, across from the Hazeldean Mall. From here, hikers can explore the Old Quarry Trail.

Waypoint 23 B marks a four-way intersection of trails. The most used portion of trail is northwest of waypoint 23 B, the section that crosses the now flooded quarry on a boardwalk. One panel shows the distance to P5 as 900 metres, the other panel shows the distance as 1.3 kilometres.

The National Capital Commission (NCC) maintains waypoint signs throughout the Greenbelt, a natural area which surrounds the city of Ottawa. The waypoints mark trail intersections. The signs include geographic co-ordinates and a map of other waypoints.
