The Broken Column headstone is in the South Head General Cemetery, off of Old South Head Road. The main inscription on it for George Albert Hedger, is as follows:

Beloved Husband of
Katie,
and loving Father of

died 14th April 1932.

Below the main inscription, on the square marble base are inscriptions for his daughter Edna who died in Fiji, 28 March 1942; and for his wife Catherine Maude Hedger, who died in 1972, aged 81 years.

From the Sydney Morning Herald, the broadsheet newspaper of NSW is the following extract:
"HEDGER -- April 14, George Albert, beloved husband of Katie, and loving father of Alfred, Edna, George and Sid, who passed away at a private hospital, Ashfield, aged 48. Rest in peace. Funeral today. See notice below."

The grave runs east/west, with the monument at the eastern end of a white marble slab that has white marble railing to the sides mounted on chamfered sandstone blocks.
