To commemorate this event, a plaque was erected in Rockliffe Park by the Canadian Capital Commission and Canadian Heritage.

The plaque reads as follows:

In 2017, sixty-five maple trees
were planted here to mark
the Sapphire Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
