The former East Peking Railway Station is nowadays a railways museum in the center of the Chinese capital city.

The Zhengyangmen railway station was built in 1901 and it was until 1959 the main train station in the city, In that year the current main train station was inaugurated.

This location is now a branch of the China Railway Museum, which has two other locations in Beijing.

This one, at Zhengyangmen, near Tianamen square, is the most central and very accessible to all the visitors of the city.

It opened as a museum 2010, having an area of 20 thousands sqm.

The exhibits are organized as follows:

1st Hall: Start Period (1876-1911)
2nd Hall: Hard Period (1911-1949)
3rd Hall: Rise Period (1949-1978)
4th Hall: Rapid Development Period (1978-2002)
5th Hall: Scientific Development Period (2002-Nowadays)

Opening 09:00-16:00 from Tuesday to Sunday; closed on Monday. Basic ticket costs 20 CNY.
