"In 2007 this stamp is part of a tourism series in which we also find the Heilig-Hartcollege located in Mechelen-aan-de-Maas and the Collège Saint-Michel in Brussels.

In the heart of the Old Namur districts, Athénée François Bovesse occupies a site dedicated to teaching since its creation in 1545 from the Latin School of the Falcon. The current buildings began to be erected in 1611, when the teaching was entrusted to the Jesuit Society of Jesus. The College, completed with the fathers' residence and a remarkable tower, was completed in 1620, leaving the construction of an adjoining baroque church. The school buildings, in the Mosan Renaissance style, and the church form a magnificent listed architectural ensemble. Over the years, the school will receive several different names to become a royal athlete in 1850 and in 1980 the Athénée Royal François Bovesse. The latter was a student at the Athénée where he obtained his Greek-Latin diploma in 1909. Later on, he was best known as a defender of culture and the arts, then as a politician, a friend of man and freedom. As a patriot, he paid with his life for his willingness to be fraternal and tolerant: he was assassinated by the rexists on February 1, 1944. The Athénée, a reference institution for official education, ensures that its secular ideas are respected and developed."
