Mark 14 Mod 1 -6 torpedo on display at the National Submarine Memorial in Groton.

The torpedo was the standard torpedo in use by the US Navy and its allies during World War II. There were 14,748 torpedos fired, sinking 1,100 ships.

The Mark 14 remained in service until 1980.
