La seconde centrale construite sur la rivière Chicoutimi. La centrale Chicoutimi, fut mise en service par la compagnie Price Brothers and Company en 1923. Située dans le quartier du Bassin, à Chicoutimi, cette centrale produit, encore aujourd’hui, 8,2 MW d’électricité pour la compagnie Abitibi-Consolidated.
Destinée à assurer la production d'électricité nécessaire à la construction du barrage de l'Isle-Maligne à Alma, la centrale fût construite en 1923 dans un temps record. Une permission spéciale du diocèse permis exceptionnellement de travailler les dimanches et les jours fériés. Cette rapidité d'exécution n'exclut cependant pas un souci d'évident d'ornementation.

The second power station built on the Chicoutimi River. The Chicoutimi plant was commissioned by the Price Brothers and Company in 1923. Located in the Bassin district of Chicoutimi, this plant still produces 8.2 MW of electricity for the Abitibi-Consolidated company. .
Designed to provide the electricity needed to build the Isle-Maligne dam in Alma, the plant was built in 1923 in record time. A special permission of the diocese allowed exceptionally to work on Sundays and holidays. This speed of execution, however, does not exclude a concern for obvious ornamentation.
