This Rotary International Marker is on a plaque presented on the 50th Anniversary of the Winter Hill Crash by the Rotary Club of Douglas. The plaque can be found in Cooill y Ree (Nook of the King) in St. John's.

The full dedication on the plaque is shown below:
"THIS PLAQUE AND TREE
WERE PRESENTED ON THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY
OF THE WINTER HILL CRASH
BY THE ROTARY CLUB OF DOUGLAS
IN MEMORY OF 35 MANX RESIDENTS
WHO DIED ON THE 27TH FEBRUARY 1958
AND TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE HELP AND SUPPORT OF
THE MEMBERS OF THE ROTARY CLUB OF HORWICH
ON THAT DAY AND THEIR FRIENDSHIP EVER SINCE."

It is below this inscription that the Rotary International logo appears.

The Winter Hill air disaster occurred when a plane flying from the Isle of Man to Manchester crashed near the summit of Winter Hill, which is located close to the towns of Bolton and Chorley in Lancashere. The crash was caused due to a nagivational error by the flight crew. 35 of the passengers on the plane were killed, the majority of whom were connected with the Isle of Man motor trade. The 3 crew were among the 7 surivors of the crash.

Cooill y Ree where the plaque which is located is a former sandpit to the west of Tynwald Hill was rehabilitated by the creation of a park on the site. (visit link)
