Park at the national historic site concerning the Long Island Locks. For parking, see additional waypoint cited below. From there cross the canal, then cross the original stone dam and then turn southwest and carefully go down slope just before crossing the modern weir dam.

The gauge has not published data since the end of December 1996. Nevertheless, the building housing the equipment is still in place. The two Water Survey of Canada markers are still in place. The government's Environment and Natural Resources web site specific to this gauge is still in place. Twenty-six years of data is on that web site.
