The Gilbert Farmstead House was the first building that was purchased, disassembled, and moved to the Storrowton Village Museum by Helen O. Storrow in 1927. The Gilbert Farmstead House was originally built in West Brookfield, MA. by Levi and Peletiah Gilbert in 1794.

The square farmstead building is a symmetrical two stories high structure that is five bays wide on the front with nine stes of pained glass windows and three bays wide on the sides with six sets of pained glass windows. The farmhouse features a central brick chimney. The front has a white picket fence. Its construction is typical of the farmhouses of late 18th century with hand hewn timbers, wrought iron nails and hardware, and wide plank wooden floors.
