It looks like the local Lions Club has erected the picnic shelter, which also covers the War Memorial. The brown-brick, waist-high, plinth has a sloping surface, with a square brass tablet screwed to it. There is a dark brown patina on the surface of the engraved plaque, which reads:
ERECTED 1985
by
The Lions Club
of
Premer and District
To honour our gallant
service men and women
who served their country
in times of war
to ensure our freedom
LEST WE FORGET
