 < "Nevers' Porte de Paris dates from 1734. Duke Mazarin-Mancini authorizes the demolition of several city gates, provided that his arms appear on the new works.
The construction of the current Porte de Paris dates back to the eighteenth century, built on the site of the old gate of the Ardilliers, dated the twelfth century.
This door is formed of a triumphal arch with a semicircular opening. The inscriptions inside the arc, are restored in 1828 and 1864.

After a year of work, the restoration work on the Porte de Paris has just been completed. The monument will be inaugurated Friday, May 3 at 17:30.
While passing at the Square of the Resistance, impossible not to raise the eyes. She is there, white, resplendent, imposing. The Paris gate has a makeover!
For a year, the workers worked on this historic monument, built in the 18th century. No less than 130 cubic meters of stone have been changed. The building has also been thoroughly cleaned.
A million-euro project that was needed: a security cover was installed around the top of the door for more than two years ...
Animations for the inauguration
To celebrate this new door, an inauguration will take place Friday, May 3, at 17:30. The organic farmers market will find its location (it was transferred to the Fnac during the works).
Animations will be offered on this occasion. And the rue des Ardilliers will be open to vehicles again on Saturday, May 4th.

La construction de l’actuelle Porte de Paris remonte donc au XVIIIe siècle, bâtie sur l’emplacement de l’ancienne porte des Ardilliers, datée du XIIe siècle.
Cette porte est formée d’un arc de triomphe avec une ouverture en plein-cintre. Les inscriptions à l’intérieure de l’arc, sont restaurées en 1828 et 1864.

Après un an de travaux, le chantier de restauration de la porte de Paris vient de s'achever. Le monument sera inauguré vendredi 3 mai à 17 h 30.
En passant au square de la Résistance, impossible de ne pas lever les yeux. Elle est là, blanche, resplendissante, imposante. La porte de Paris s'est refait une beauté !
Pendant un an, les ouvriers ont travaillé sur ce monument historique, construit au XVIIIe siècle. Pas moins de 130 mètres cubes de pierre ont été changées. L'édifice a également été nettoyé en profondeur.
Un chantier d'un million d'euros qui était nécessaire : une bâche de sécurité avait été installée autour du haut de la porte pendant plus de deux ans...
Des animations pour l'inauguration
Pour célébrer cette nouvelle porte, une inauguration se déroulera vendredi 3 mai, à 17 h 30. Le marché de producteurs bio retrouvera son emplacement (il était transféré devant la Fnac pendant les travaux).
Des animations seront proposées à cette occasion. Et la rue des Ardilliers sera de nouveau ouverte aux véhicules dès samedi 4 mai.
