This 9/11 memorial like many others has parts from the World Trade Center. It is a sculpture with two tall elements, like the twin towers.There are plaques describing events. the memorial, plaques and benches were donated by several individuals. Text on the memorial:
On September 11th, 2001 American Airlines Flight 11 departed Boston, MA at 7:59am. At approximately 8:46am the airliner struck the World Trade Center's North Tower, immediately killing all 92 passengers. On September 11th, 2001 United Flight 175 departed Boston, MA at 8:14am. At approximately 9:03am the airliner struck the World Trade Center's South Tower, immediately killing all 56 passengers on board. Approximately 2,606 people were killed in the attacks at the World Trade Center site, the majority of them being civilian employees. Of the casualties 343 were members of the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) and 71 were Law Enforcement Officers. More than 6,000 people were injured. Over 1,400 rescue workers have since died from the attacks due to cancer and/or other related illnesses. Donated by George Seibel and Family
