The Katy Trail OKC south trailhead is at Washington Park, at the posted coordinates. There is no parking on the north end of the trail, which ends at Deep Fork Creek, south of I-44.
From Washington Park, the trail crosses N.E. 4th St., heads east to Douglass Park (almost I-35) north several miles to Grand, then follows Grand to almost I-44. On NE Grand Blvd. the Katy Trail passes by the Oklahoma Railway Museum.
Our favorite section of the Katy Trail OKC is where it intersects N.E. 16th St. At this location you can see the gates labeled KT RR (Katy Trail Rail Road) on both sides of the street. I asked some local kids if visitors are more likely to walk the trail or ride bikes, and they said both are very common.
