Of the three benchmarks in Quesnel, this is the only one along Front Street, Quesnel's "Main Street" since its founding in about 1863.

In 1982, when 82C251 was monumented, this was a Safeway store. Today, it is still a Safeway store. The benchmark is in the west wall about 2 feet south of an entry, which is about 15 feet south of the north end of the building. When monumented, 82C251 was just south of the north end, but since that time a 15 (or so) foot addition to the building has been made, effectively moving 82C251 south from the north end.
While it's been covered by many coats of paint, enough paint has peeled off that the engraving is quite legible.
