"In the Gothic period, the church was enlarged by two aisles, to the north and south. Its openings and ornamentation were modified several times until the 16th century: large bays are pierced in the collateral and in the western wall of the nave with rich replenishments unfortunately disappeared. The powerful pillars of the choir recall that the church was surmounted by a bell tower.
It thus underwent many modifications during the 14th, 16th and especially 18th and 19th centuries. Before the Revolution, it was used as a parish church, welcoming the faithful of the district.
In the eighteenth century, to enlarge the building and lack of other possibilities, a new bedside is built in the north, breaking with the traditional orientation. The church is richly decorated with stucco. Pilasters subtly chant the spans inside as well as outside.
During the Revolution, the church was sold as a national property, transformed into a spirits store, a distillery, and a dwelling. It still remembers this occupation through its large doorway and a still visible inscription, recognizing the merits of its production. liquor.
Its walls also bear the scars of the struggles of 1918 which riddled it with impacts.”

A la période gothique, l’église s’agrandit de deux bas-côtés, au nord et au sud. Ses ouvertures et son ornementation sont modifiées plusieurs fois jusqu’au XVIe siècle : de vastes baies sont percées dans les collatéraux et dans le mur occidentale de la nef avec de riches remplages malheureusement disparus. Les puissants piliers du chœur rappellent que l’église était surmontée d’une tour-clocher.
Elle a ainsi subi de nombreuses modifications au cours des XIVe, XVIe et surtout aux XVIIIe et XIXe siècles. Avant la Révolution, elle était utilisée comme église paroissiale, accueillant les fidèles du quartier.
Au XVIIIe siècle, pour agrandir l’édifice et faute d’autres possibilités, un nouveau chevet est bâti au nord, rompant avec l’orientation traditionnelle. L’église est alors richement décorée de stucs. Des pilastres scandent avec subtilité les travées à l’intérieur aussi bien qu’à l’extérieur.
A la Révolution, l’église est vendue comme bien national : transformée entre autres en magasin de spiritueux, distillerie et habitation, elle garde le souvenir de cette occupation à travers sa grande porte cochère et une inscription encore visible ventant les mérites de sa production de liqueur.
Ses murs portent aussi les cicatrices des combats de 1918 qui la criblèrent d’impacts. "
