"Gene Carlisle, owner of about 100 Wendy’s franchises, 68 in Mississippi locations, was welcomed to Holly Springs by the local chamber of commerce and mayor and board of aldermen during grand opening ceremonies Thursday. Carlisle said he wanted to open a Wendy’s in Holly Springs five years ago but the rights were held up. He expects the Holly Springs store to do about $1.5 million a year in business.
'“There are some wonderful people here, a wonderful community, and this is a great location,” he said. “We hope to serve you well, be good citizens and work with your city.” Afterward, guests were treated to a free meal.
