The Bond 45 neon work is a glorious, multifaceted display combining several functions -- attention-grabbing, informational, time-telling, and architectural. Bright red and deep blue highlighted by white accents formulate the building-sized piece.
This assembly can be broken down to three main components: A marquee and two vertical side pieces. The marquee spans the width of the building. Twin tall elements mounted perpendicular to the facade bookend the second floor.
BOND 45 is outlined in single tubes of red and filled with dual tubes of blue on the marquee and the outside faces of the vertical signs. Deep blue letters are backlit by white neon on the inside faces of the vertical signs. Along the marquee a giant, three-dimensional spoon cradles the digits while its handle rests atop the "D". The spoon is outlined with white neon. The centers of each "O" in BOND are clock faces. Several smaller font sections promote "BREAKFAST ALL DAY", "BREAKFAST BUFFET ITALIAN STYLE", and "AMERICAN BREAKFAST ITALIAN STYLE".
The restaurant is just half a block west of Times Square between Broadway and 8th Avenue across the street from the Richard Rogers Theatre -- home to Hamilton since 2015.
