This column is as old as this part of the city - 37 years. It was there, when Potsdam was part of East-Germany, then bearing mostly communist propaganda (an example of such a propaganda-column can be seen here).
When we visited it in May 2019, most of the advertising was for cultural events, such as a special performance of the city's theater.
We took pictures from front and back (above) and got lucky and even watched somebody working on the column (below).
