In 1985, the Township of Delhi (now Norfolk County) applied for the building to be designated. In the application (https://www.heritagetrust.on.ca/en/oha/details/file?id=7886) it is stated: The Normandale Post Office was built by the Van Norman family and functioned as an important part of their enterprises until 1847. The building was the first post office in Normandale and was operated as a post office until 1875.
In more recent times it has operated as a restaurant and family residence.
