The new skatepark, officially opened in February 2017, at the front of the Mansfield Sports Complex has been given a FOUR star rating - compared to a two star rating for the former skate park, by the Skateboard Australia website. The polished concrete dish and ramps must provide a good skating surface. It was first initiated from a letter a local teenager wrote to the Council in 2012. It was designed by Convic Pty Ltd, and constructed by Precision Skate Parks Pty Ltd. and features elements iconic to the region, including: the Shelter Shed is inspired by the Water Tank at the Railway; timber bollards are from the Mansfield [cattle] Sale Yards; One half of a chairlift spool from Mt Buller supports the circle 'manny' pad; a snow plough blade is used; the old Water Tank at the entrance had been used as a Grind Rail for snowboarding events at Mt Buller.
