"Une première église Saint-Jean-Baptiste fut fondée au IVè siècle par saint Martin de Tours, qui la dota de reliques de saint Jean-Baptiste. Au Xè siècle fut construite une basilique parementée en petit appareil, composée d’une nef accompagnée de deux collatéraux lui permettant l’éclairage direct. Les deux collatéraux sont couverts comme elle d’une charpente. La nef se termine par un chœur rectangulaire cloisonné, divisé en trois nefs voûtées de berceaux en plein cintre. Au XIè siècle, le chevet fut modifié. Le clocher porche, bâti au XIè siècle, est rebâti en partie et surélevé au XIIè siècle. Au XVè siècle, une chapelle latérale fut ajoutée au nord. Seul l’extérieur de l’abside et des absidioles du XIIè siècle ne fut pas restauré. Elles sont éclairées par des fenêtres en plein cintre.
Le clocher est classé Monument Historique par arrêté du 21 décembre 1914. Les parties du XIIè siècle de l’abside et de la sacristie attenante sont classées Monuments Historiques par arrêté du 24 avril 1933."
"A first Saint-Jean-Baptiste church was founded in the 4th century by Saint Martin de Tours, who endowed it with relics of Saint Jean-Baptiste. In the 10th century, a basilica was built with a small apparatus, composed of a nave and two side aisles for direct lighting. The two collaterals are covered like her with a frame. The nave ends with a partitioned rectangular choir, divided into three naves vaulted with semicircular cradles. In the 11th century, the bedside was modified. The porch bell tower, built in the 11th century, was partially rebuilt and raised in the 12th century. In the 15th century, a side chapel was added to the north. Only the exterior of the apse and the 12th century apsidioles was not restored. They are illuminated by round-headed windows.
The bell tower is classified as a Historical Monument by decree of 21 December 1914. The 12th century parts of the apse and the adjoining sacristy are classified as Historic Monuments by decree of 24 April 1933."
