On the outskirts of Broekhuizen is a remarkable work of art: the cyclists monument. It is placed in honor of the annual Tour de Brokeze, the bicycle tour that is traditionally cycled on Carnival Tuesday.
Carnival club De Krey from Broekhuizen organizes the Tour de Brokeze instead of a traditional carnival parade. About 40 participants appear at the start of a fun bike race in the morning. The gears and the bike creations attract a lot of attention. The starting signal is a surprise every year, because: when and how is the starting signal given? Violations en route are punished with pitch and feathers and the winner receives a hug from Miss Krey; the most beautiful girl in Broekhuizen.
