Brabyns Park was formerly the grounds of Brabyns Hall a now demolished mansion house. It was purchased by Cheshire County Council after the last owner of the estate died and turned into a public park.

The path over the bridge leads from the Peak Forest Canal to the main entrance to the park. The footpath is shared by the Midshires Way a 220 mile long distance footpath between Stockport and Bledlow.
