The Wagon Wheels are mounted on the broad metal pipe gates to the left of the cattle-grid of this property. From a distance I didn't recognise the signifance of this pair. They have NINE spokes - something I hadn't seen before, but then I noticed the spokes didn't seem to be embedded in the steel of the rim after coming out from the steel hub. The reason being, that the spokes are attached to the top a yoke-style bracket, that is welded to seperate rims, that have a split between the two 'dished' parts; and the yoke keeps the two rings of the rims at the set distance apart.

The two rims of each Wagon Wheel are attached to the fence at six points, with four being the horizontal steel elliptic RHS, which comes between the two rims, and the other two attachments are at the top and bottom of the wheels, onto the top and bottom rails. I'm not sure if there was an original external covering over the two halves, but it may have been some solid rubber acting as the tyre over the rims.

The gates mustn't be used too much as the gates were resting on a couple of star-pickets, which support some reinforcing mesh.
